Reflecting on IAM10

We loved seeing so many of you at IAM10 on Saturday, it was such a great time to be meeting together and celebrating what God has done through prayer rooms, communities and missions across the world. The stories and testimonies were inspiring and emotional, and the call to the future 10 years left us with a tingle of excitement and anticipation.

Phil Togwell, 24-7′s UK Director, blogged his reflections on our 10th Birthday Celebration IAM10.  Here are some of his thoughts:

Three days ago, three hundred of us (I think?) were in a big Anglican church near Marylebone Station celebrating ten years of 24-7 prayer, and wondering together what the future might hold for us. And we had a blast!

“Thanks for such a well organised and inspiring day!” said Tim

“Yesterday was a triumph” said Pete

“Great day on Saturday. Well done 2 all” said Debbie

“Thank you SO much to all you guys from 24-7 Prayer UK for the amazing party on Saturday! It was great to see you and hear all that is going on across the nation and Europe with the prayer movement.” said Katie

“I wasn’t sure whether to go or not (to IAM10), firstly because the last couple of weeks have been very non-stop and secondly i wasn’t sure if i ‘belonged’ there. But as i walked in the door of the venue i remembered that that’s exactly the thing that keeps me coming back for more – there is no ‘membership’, there is no ‘in’ and ‘out’, and i have always felt very at home at any 24-7 gatherings that i’ve been too. Maybe it’s the colourfulness, the uniqueness, the ragtag-nonconventional look of the people who come together. But that’s just the outside. Really i think its the connection – the shared desire to push the boundaries, not settle, to dream and scheme and journey, and see where God leads. It’s the passion for prayer and for mission and for justice, the longing for community and creativity and expression of LOVE in countless ways.” said Katrina on her blog (she says a lot more too… go check it out)

Do have a look at Phil’s blog for more of his reflections. We thought we’d leave you with this video made by Jon Bilbrough – a ‘happy birthday’ song, written and recorded especially for IAM10…
