Prayer Room: Shrewsbury, Part Two

“Over 250 people across Trinity Churches from Pre-school to elderly joined together in the Church Tower Vestry in a united week of night and day prayer” writes Corinne Ashton.

“Transformed to provide a place of prayer creative and accessible, the prayer room themed on the Lords Prayer provided a prayer space to rest in Gods presence. There were maps to help people to pray for the parish, town, nation and world needs. Many painted or made models of their prayers or what they felt God was saying, the huge wooden cross proved a focal point for prayer, a ‘graffiti wall’ provided space for written prayers and prayers of thanks written on leaves created a thanksgiving tree.

Corporate times of led prayer held twice a day for people to drop in were very meaningful, an evening of worship and waiting on God to hear what He wanted us to pray also took place and many prayer requests from people in the community were sent in and prayed for.

It was an AWESOME week!! Highlights included children praying, young people praying throughout the night and the extra hour as the clocks went back, groups coming together to pray, people dropping in and receiving prayer requests from our café, the Trinity Centre and online for broken relationships, healing and many other issues. What a privilege to serve people from the community in prayer.

An All Age Celebration marked the completion of the week. Complete with party atmosphere and nibbles it went off with a bang of a firework finale to mark the end!!

Many involved said it was an AMAZING week!! How much they appreciated it, in the busyness of life and church, time to stop and be. How a great peace and Gods presence was felt in the room, how uplifted they felt, how it was great just to be there and soak up the atmosphere where so many prayers have been lifted up to God, how meeting fellow Christians and coming together across all groups and across the parish was very special, how it brought people back to the heart of worship and how they’ll prioritise prayer in future and as someone said “The hour went incredibly quick, so am glad to have signed up for more later in the week”.

Praise God for the amazing week we had with Him!! As angels continue to praise Jesus day and night around the throne we’re excited and expectant to see how God will answer prayers prayed during 24/7, transform lives, church, communities and nations. We’re continuing together to push into God to see where He wants to take our passion and momentum for prayer.”
