Our friends in Ireland have just launched their new 24-7 Prayer website – http://24-7prayerireland.com – and we love it! Have a look around if you get a couple minutes – you’ll find resources, information, plenty of vision and a regular flow of stories from prayer rooms all over Ireland.
Even more exciting is that the 24-7 prayer team in Ireland have just launched into their first year of non-stop prayer, in partnership with Alpha, bringing together churches from across the whole of Ireland – from the North and the Republic. The theme for the year is the passage from 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” The question is this – What if? What if we get on our knees and pray? What if people gather from across the nation and cry out to God night and day? What might God do in response?
Each month the team are encouraging churches and individuals to focus their praying on a particular region, which is connected with an event in that particular area, giving a great opportunity for people to gather and share stories, to pray and worship God together.
And this is all happening at the same time as churches across Wales and Scotland are also launching seasons on non-stop prayer throughout 2011 – for Scotland, this will be their second year. For Wales, this will be their first. These are exciting times for our nations, kingdoms uniting in prayer.
