24-7 UK Internships: Kingdom Come 2012

Question 2: Are you passionate about Prayer, Mission and Justice?

Question 3: Would you like to spend one day a week for a year to support & resource prayer activities all over the UK, starting in Jan 2012?

If the answer is yes, read on as 24-7 prayer in the UK is growing!

24-7 UK Internships: Kingdom Come 2012

24-7 prayer and Alpha are working together to see a whole year of non-stop prayer, mission and justice across the United Kingdom and Ireland throughout 2012, and we’re calling it ’Kingdom Come 2012.’

We, along with many others around the UK, Ireland and the rest of the World, believe that God is calling his Church to pray. Prayer, in all kinds of ways… prayer walking, 24-7 prayer rooms, prayer in schools and universities and workplaces, prayer road-trips and ‘revival runs’ and target-teams, prayer gatherings and events… prayer in all kinds of places. And we’re inviting everyone to pray together, in all kinds of ways, in all kinds of places, throughout the Olympic year, under this one banner… ‘Kingdom Come 2012′.

And we need lots of help to make this happen! At the moment we need some help to support and mobilise the many hundreds, probably thousands of ‘Kingdom Come 2012′ prayer groups that will be registering over the coming year.

For this, we’re looking for 2-3 high quality interns to work with us, one day a week (ideally Mondays) throughout 2012. This is a really exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to get onto the inside track with 24-7 prayer UK, to be right at the heart of everything that we’re doing. Interested?

If so, you will need;

+ proven administration and organisational skills/experience, with high attention to detail

+ an excellent phone manner, and general good communication skills (interpersonal, emails, etc.)

+ a willingness to learn, flexibility

+ a strong desire to love and serve Christians who want to deepen their prayer lives, even start praying for the first time

+ to work well on your own, as well as with various teams (with 24-7 prayer and Alpha staff)

+ to pray

Interns will be based at the 24-7 UK office in Kings Cross, London one day a week, and will work as part of the Prayer and Communications team. There will be professional communications and journalism training and opportunities to write for the 24-7 UK website, attend monthly 24-7 team mornings, visit Alpha’s head office and get to learn with national leaders within the 24-7 movement. Your travel expenses will be paid, but you will need use of your own laptop.

The deadline for applications has been extended to 30th October 2011. Interviews will take place during November.

This is a chance to get involved in the nation where the first 24-7 prayer room, sparked by caffeine-fuelled students in Chichester, England in September 1999, spread like a wild-fire across the globe. Last time we counted there had been over eight thousand two hundred 24-7 prayer rooms in over 111 different nations! On every continent but Antarctica.

In the UK, the number of prayer rooms continues to rise steadily. In the first five months of 2011, for example, more than 200 prayer rooms across England, Scotland and Wales registered onto this website… and that’s not to mention more than 100 across Ireland, and more than 50 UK Prayer Spaces in Schools. Something very exciting is taking place… and it’s taking place between individual people and God, children and adults, from every denomination and no-denomination (some wouldn’t even call themselves Christians) – simple, honest prayers… heard in Heaven.

If you would like to take a year to support, mobilise and resource prayer activities all over the  UK we’d love to hear from you. Please send a CV and a covering email to theresa.malinowska@24-7prayer.com telling us about yourself and why you would like to be part of supporting Kingdom Come 2012.
